West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee marked International Workers' Day with a heartfelt message, expressing solidarity and gratitude towards laborers. In a post shared on the microblogging site X on Wednesday morning, she conveyed her "best wishes to all the labor brothers and sisters" while acknowledging the pivotal role of workers in society. Banerjee emphasized, "Workers are the pillars of our society. We are proud of them. I always stand with them in their every need."

Highlighting the government's commitment to supporting laborers, Banerjee underscored various initiatives aimed at their welfare. She cited the introduction and execution of the 'No-cost Social Security Scheme' and the state's financial assistance to 59 lakh deprived MNREGA workers, funded from the state treasury. Asserting continued support, Banerjee affirmed, "We have always stood by our workers and will do so in the future too."
